In front of the Honolulu Zoo is a statue of Mohandas Gandhi. Considering where it is, are you surprised there are leis on it?
On Maundy Thursday, it is traditional to reserve the sacrament for communion on Good Friday. It is common to place the sacrament in a “garden” where you can wait with Jesus for an hour, as he asked his disciples to do on the night he was betrayed. This was the Altar of Repose one year at Church of the Redeemer in Kenmore, Washington. It was set up in the baptistry.
Washington Mutual is no more, a casualty of financial issues in 2008. The Washington Mutual Tower has a new name in downtown Seattle. This picture was taken in an outdoor garden midway up the tower where you could get some fresh air, eat lunch, and enjoy a spectacular view.
It has been a while since you’ve seen a picture taken in Hawaiʻi. I need to correct that. This picture of the “Salmon-Thirty-Salmon” livery airliner of Alaska Airlines was taken at their gate in HNL.
Earlier I gave a detail-oriented person’s description of a sunset mentioning Queen’s Beach in Honolulu. Sans Souci Beach is next door to Queen’s Beach. This short video was taken walking back from dinner to our hotel along Sans Souci.
The last picture was taken from the Sounder commuter rail, waiting for a return ride to Everett, Washington.
