Except for a few cases, such as the decorative photos on my portfolio page, the static website pages have my pictures on them, unless otherwise stated.
This is a little about each of the photos of mine used on the static pages of this website. With the exception of this post, I did not cover the blog pages.
Home page
The cover photo was taken in Index, Washington. The bridge in the foreground carries the Burlington Northern Santa Fe mainline over the North Fork of the Skykomish River. The one in the background is how you enter the town.
I took this photo of a flower at the Byodo-In Temple in Kahaluu, Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, with my smart phone.
About (Résumé)
The cover photo is from Legion Park in Everett, Washington, near where I live. This shows the mouth of the Snohomish River looking towards Tulalip and Camano Island at sunset. On one of the poles in the water, there is an osprey (seahawk) nest.
The next picture is a sunset from Waikīkī, Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi.
The final picture has stage props from the Kent Stowell production of the Nutcracker by Pacific Northwest Ballet. They were designed by Maurice Sendak. When the production was retired, a resident of Seattle bought these and other props from the production, displaying them at Christmas.

The picture at the bottom of the page was taken from the Sounder commuter rail, waiting for a return ride to Everett, Washington.
Contact
Some of you may recognize the volcano in the cover photo on the Contact page. You know that I did not take it in Hawaiʻi. The picture was taken in Wakinakona (which is how you say Washington in ʻŌleo Hawaiʻi) where the Twin River enters the Strait of Juan de Fuca. It was taken with my phone. I wish I had brought my good camera on this trip just for this shot.
However, this one is from the North Shore of Oʻahu in January 2020. And, my smartphone worked just fine.

Here is an exception for not covering the photos for the blog pages on this website. The cover picture on this page is a compass rose taken at Grand Avenue Park in Everett, Washington. The various watercraft with the rose are all associated somehow with the history of Everett, such as a Native canoe, a whaleback boat built in Everett, and the Calista.

While I haven’t been doing a lot of updating of it lately, I have a Flickr page. It probably is time for me to create some more public folders here.
